[ET Net News Agency, 21 May 2014] Lenovo Group (00992) said its profit attributable to equity holders for the year ended 31 March 2014 rose 28.7% year-on-year to US$817 million. Its basic and diluted earnings per share were US7.88 cents and US7.78 cents. The revenue reached a record-high of US$38,707 million, an increase of 14.3% from a year earlier. Revenue of the Group's PC and related business were US$31,835 million, up 7% year-on-year; whilst the revenue of mobile devices jumped 86% year-on-year to US$5,657 million. Meanwhile, revenue of other goods and services was US$1,215 million. The Group's gross profit grew 14.4% year-on-year to US$5,064 million and gross margin remained flat year-on-year at 13.1%. Lenovo's commercial PC unit shipments grew 4% year-on-year, which was a 5-point premium to the market. Lenovo's market share in the worldwide commercial PC market increased by 1 percentage points year-on-year to 19.7% during the fiscal year under review. Its consumer PC unit shipments grew 6% year-on-year, which was a 19-point premium to the market, and its market share increased by 2.9 percentage points year-on-year to 15.7%. Lenovo's worldwide smartphone shipments achieved a record-high level of over 50 million for the year, growing by 72% year-on-year in fiscal year 2013/14, solidifying its global number four smartphone vendor position with market share growing by one percentage point year-on-year to 4.6%. The proposed final dividend is HK18 cents (2013: HK14 cents) per share, payable on 14 July 2014. (HL)
