A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd and Lincoln County, Nevada Agree to Jointly Fund Feasibility Study for Pinyon-Juniper Biomass Fueled Electric Generation Plant
SHENYANG, China, Sept 13, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (Nasdaq: APWR) ("A-Power" or "the Company"), a leading provider of distributed power generation systems in China and a fast-growing manufacturer of wind turbines, today announced a Joint Feasibility Study for a biomass fueled electric generation plant with Lincoln County Nevada.
A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. and The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners (Nevada) have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to share the cost of evaluating the feasibility of constructing and operating up to a 10 MW electric generating facility to be fueled with biomass derived from landscape enhancement projects to undertaken by the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Lincoln County. The BLM's Ely Resource Management Plan has identified in excess of 1 million acres of Pinyon-Juniper woodland in Lincoln County requiring landscape treatment to restore and enhance wildlife habitat, watersheds and to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire. Lincoln County has long sought to identify industrial users of Pinyon-Juniper biomass which might result from BLM landscape treatment projects.
A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd ("A-Power") through its China-based operating subsidiaries is a leading private provider of distributed power generation systems in China and Southeast Asia. Lincoln County and A-Power anticipate completing the feasibility study in early 2011.
