Standard Graphite Discovers Significant Conductor Over Sandy Lake Property Vancouver, BC - May 1, 2012 - Standard Graphite Corp. (TSXV: SGH) (the "Company"), is pleased to announce that the interpretation of the airborne geophysical TDEM survey, conducted in March 2012 by Aeroquest Inc., has outlined a significant conductor over its Sandy Lake property located some 20 kilometres southeast of the town of Fermont, Québec.
The Sandy Lake Property, acquired in the fall of 2011 for its graphite potential, is part of a series of claim blocks designated around the town of Fermont, Quebec, showing the same geology as the nearby Lac Knife deposit (Focus Metals), which is approximately 30 kilometres west. Two (2) showings are located on the eastern shore of Sandy Lake and some 68 designated claims covering some 11,700 hectares were staked by the company to cover the zone of interest.
The airborne survey covered the entire claim block and consisted of 340 line kilometres measuring the magnetic and electromagnetic (EM) responses of the underlying rocks. The interpretation of this data has linked the two (2) anomalies and both are associated with an extensive conductor measuring approximately 8 kilometres that shows fold structures in its northern and central portions. Fold structures are considered important exploration targets where graphite has potentially migrated during metamorphism. The conductor outlined on the project is coincident with the known occurrences confirming that the EM signature is clearly associated with a graphitic horizon.
On the surface, rocks of the Menihek formation, strongly metamorphosed graphite-bearing pelitic sediments, characterize the geology of the area. This geological formation accounts for the vast majority of the graphite occurrences in the region.

Chris Bogart, President and CEO of Standard Graphite comments: "We are enthusiastic about the results at Sandy Lake showing yet another spectacular conductor coincident with our 2 known graphite occurrences. Our exploration teams are now preparing to embark on an exciting summer field program scheduled to commence in early June". Aeroquest International Ltd., using a helicopter rigged with a magnetometer and TDEM systems, performed the airborne survey and post treatment of the data. The survey was designed to optimize the response from potential conductors and to discriminate between the types of conductors.

About Standard Graphite
Standard Graphite Corp is focused exclusively on the exploration and development of a large portfolio of flake graphite properties in Canada. The company is rapidly positioning itself as North America's premier pure-play graphite exploration company and it controls 100% interest in 13 highly prospective graphite properties within known graphite districts in both Quebec and Ontario. An aggressive 2012 exploration strategy has commenced and will be implemented by a geologic team with the pedigree of a previous world-class graphite discovery.
