Rare-Earth Drill Program Underway at Rare Element Resources' Wyoming Property, Newmont's Sundance Gold-Focused Drill Program to begin in Mid June
VANCOUVER, May 24, 2007 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- TSX-V: RES
Rare Element Resources Ltd (TSX-V: RES) announces that the rare-earth-focused exploration drilling is underway at the Company's Wyoming property. The initial core holes of the drill program, 1,360 metres of drilling, will provide data to confirm the historical Hecla Mining Company rare-earth discoveries in the Southwest Bull Hill area. Confirmation drilling at the Southwest Bull Hill will also provide additional metallurgical test material, which is needed to continue studies of this known area of high-grade rare-earth mineralization.
The Sundance joint venture with Newmont North America Exploration Limited (Newmont), which is exploring for gold on the Company's Wyoming property, has initiated its 2007 exploration program. The program for 2007 comprises drilling and detailed environmental, geological, geochemical and geophysical studies. Drilling is expected to begin in mid June.
Exploration results generated by Sundance continue to highlight the similarities between the Rare Element Resources property and the Cripple Creek, Colorado gold district (over 23 million ounces of gold produced since discovery).
Rare Element Resources Ltd (TSX-V:RES) is a publicly traded mineral-resource company focused on gold and the rare-earth elements.
