Enttäuschungspotential, v.a. beim Handelsstreit, ist quasi vorprogrammiert. Es ist noch lange nichts in trockenen Tüchern ...
Die Wirtschaft kühlt sich ab. Das ist nun mal Fakt. Das wird die Börse auch bald wieder feststellen. Wie gesagt, das ist nur meine Meinung und vielleicht liege ich falsch. Ärgern werde ich mich dann aber trotzdem nicht" ...
Anscheinend darf man hier nicht alles verlinken ?!?
Hi, an interesting (though lengthy) article on VW's EV push. I like the way it illustrates the disruption and Opportunity.. or better volumes. Read the last paragraph at least given its relevance for Aixtron and SiC adoption cycle (22m units vs. 36k at current), copied here:
Undeterred by patchy charging infrastructure, VW plans for no fewer than 22 million units over the next 10 years and anticipates that by 2030 the electric-car share will surge to at least 40% of global deliveries. That lofty projection stands in stark contrast to the realities on German roads today. VW shipped only a handful rekindled battery-powered Golfs last year, and in all of Germany a meager 36,000 electric cars were sold. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/...actory?srnd=premium-europe
It is easier to read in this version. There seems to be no sign of slow down in the GaAs front of its business which connects to Aixtron closely. VPEC is a competitor of IQE. Its position in Taiwan gives it competitive advantage over IQE as China diversifies its supply chain from the western world. VPEC had 48 Aixtron MOCVD reactors in 08/2018 and has been adding . -------------------------------------------------- https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20190905PD205.html
Win Semi August revenues hit record for 2nd straight month Julian Ho, Taipei; Jessie Shen, DIGITIMES Friday 6 September 2019
GaAs foundry Win Semiconductors has reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.09 billion (US$66.6 million) for August 2019, hitting a monthly record for the second consecutive month.
Win Semi's revenues for August 2019 represented increases of 4.1% sequentially and nearly 55% on year. The company credited its positive performance to robust demand for power amplifier, VCSEL and wireless infrastructure applications, and a pull-in of orders from a US client.
Win Semi disclosed its cumulative 2019 revenues through August increased 3.3% from a year earlier to NT$12.16 billion.
Win Semi reportedly has been contracted by HiSilicon and other China-based chip developers to fabricate mainly smartphone PAs, while enjoying a ramp-up in orders for 5G infrastructure applications, according to market watchers. The GaAs foundry has seen clear order visibility through October-November.
Win Semi is also engaged in the supply chain for the upcoming iPhones through Lumentum, which will buoy further revenues during the second half of 2019, the watchers said.
Win Semi estimated previously revenues would climb about 30% sequentially in the third quarter, with a higher gross margin. Win Semi said it has been engaged in 5G PA development projects with multiple customers, while rising demand for 5G infrastructure will be driving company growth in the latter part of this year.
Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company (VPEC), which supplies epitaxial wafers to Win Semi, has announced revenues surged 33.5% from a year ago to NT$234 million in August 2019. VPEC's revenues for the first eight months of 2019 totaled NT$1.57 billion, rising 9% on year.
August also marked the third consecutive month of over 10% on-year growth in revenues for VPEC.
VPEC has reportedly cut into the supply chains of Samsung and Huawei, and other major Android phone vendors who adopt VCSELs for applications such as handset power amplifiers, face-identification sensors and time-of-flight (ToF) camera lens.
