ORIENTAL INTERSECTS 0.90% WO3 OVER 10 METRES NEAR SURFACE AND UP TO 0.19% MOS2 OVER 65 METRES - EXTENDS MINERALIZATION 400 METRES BEYOND PREVIOUS DRILLING

Vancouver, British Columbia CANADA, February 06, 2008 /FSC/ - Oriental Minerals Inc. (TSX - VX: OTL, FWB: OZ4, OTCBB_Pink_Sheets: OMNLF), is pleased to announce further results from an additional 15 holes from the Phase 2 drill program at the Sangdong Tungsten-Molybdenum project in South Korea. The Company continues to encounter high-grade intervals of tungsten and molybdenum which will be incorporated into a future update to the January 30th, 2008 resource estimate. Relative to existing mineralized drill holes, SD-30 extends the mineralisation approximately 400m to the northwest and, SD-31 and SD-41 extend the mineralisation approximately 50m to the west and southwest respectively.

Highlights, using a 0.15% WO3 and 0.05% MoS2 cut-off, are as follows:

* 19 metres @ 0.26 % WO3 (324m-343m)
* 65 metres @ 0.19% MoS2 (278m-343m)

* 15 metres @ 0.17 % WO3 (68m-83m)
* 15 metres @ 0.35 % WO3 (108m-123m)
* 11 metres @ 0.62 % WO3 (148m-159m)

* SD-33

* 14 metres @ 0.20 % WO3 (25m-39m)
* 13 metres @ 0.35 % WO3 (44m-57m)
* 18 metres @ 0.25 % WO3 (142m-160m)

* SD-41

* 10 metres @ 0.90 % WO3 (36m-46m)

* 40 metres @ 0.29 % WO3 (40m-80m)

QA/QC

Samples are 1-metre split PQ, HQ or NQ core or 1-metre split RC. The samples were prepared at the on-site preparation facility and pulps were submitted to ALS Chemex laboratory in Brisbane, Australia and analyzed by Ore Grade Method XRF-ME05, Au-AA21, ME-ICP41s and Ag-OG46.

Quality Control: Blanks, Standards and Coarse and Pulp Duplicates samples were routinely inserted with the drill samples at random intervals. Blank samples were clean, indicating no cross contamination in the samples. All results confirm analysis of Standards and Coarse Duplicates are within the normal bounds of acceptable error of +/- 5%. Pulp Duplicate samples processed by another independent laboratory are also within the normal bounds of acceptable error of +/- 5%.

Wer ist der Flencher genau????  

Herr Stephen Flechner ist u. a. Berater und hat den Posten des Präsidenten und CEO eingenommen. Her Flechner hat das Unternehmen bisher beraten, dabei geholfen, es in Südkorea
seit Juni 2006 zu präsentieren und ist seit 19. Dezember 2006
Direktor des Unternehmens. Herr Flechner wohnt in Denver, Colorado,
und hat einen Doktor in Rechtswissenschaften von der
Yale-Universität. Er ist der frühere Vizepräsident, allgemeine
Berater und Geschäftsführer von "Gold Fields Mining Corporation"
("GFMC"). In dieser Position führte und leitete er rechtliche und
umwelttechnische Funktionen, um Goldabbau in Ortiz in New Mexico,
Mesquite in Kalifornien und Chimney Creek in Nevada zu ermöglichen,
finanzieren, entwickeln und erweitern. In jüngerer Vergangenheit war
Herr Flechner in der Basismetallexploration tätig, als er bei der JV
mit dem größten Zinkproduzenten Südkoreas mitarbeitete. Außerdem
arbeitete er auf Uranprojekten in Europa und Nordamerika. Die
beeindruckende Erfahrung und Erfolgsliste von Herrn Flechner bei
"GFMC" sowie seine internationale Erfahrung bei Minenprojekten in
Australien, Bolivien, Kanada, Chile, Ghana, Irland, Kazakhstan,
Korea, Indonesien, Mexiko und der Slowakei beweisen seine Fähigkeit,
bedeutend am Wachstum und der Entwicklung von Oriental Minerals
mitzuwirken.

warum macht flechner das, wenn die optionsvereinbarung bis mitte 2011 gültigkeit hat? - er also auch in den nächsten jahren zu 0,25cad otl aktien ankaufen könnte - warum jetzt und warum zufällig im vorfeld der veröffentlichung der ressourcenschätzung?

es gab relativ hohe umsätze am tag der veröffentlichung - der kurs hat aber nicht sonderlich bewegt...

ich gehe davon aus, dass in den nächsten tagen flechner wieder in den insiderfilings zu finden sein wird.... ob dann die entsprechende meldung noch immer als "positiv" zu sehen sein wird?

...in den vergangenen monaten schon öfters gestellt bekommen und ich habe mich jedesmal geirrt, denn scheinbar spielen individuelle fundamentale oder charttechnische faktoren nur eine untergeordnete rolle - man kann gegen den gesamtmarkt nicht gewinnen.

vereinzelte ausnahmen in beide richtungen gibt es zwar, aber die sind selten.

speziell im explorermarkt haben sich die bewertungskriterien extrem verschoben. die mit abstand grösste hürde ist die aufbringung der finalen finanzierungmittel zur realisierung des minenbetriebs geworden bzw. der damit verbundene ehestmögliche produktionsbeginn.

alle sogenannten "milestones" davor wie zb eine international anerkannte ressourcenschätzung oder machbarkeitsstudie spielen nur mehr eine untergeordnete rolle und beeinflussen den kursverlauf nur mehr wenig.

es gibt imo aktuell viele unterbewertete explorer, die sich in einem ähnlichen entwicklungsstadium wie otl befinden.

aber zurück zu deiner frage und meiner "milchglaskugel": wenn sich der gesamtmarkt in den nächsten wochen/monaten stabilisieren sollte sehe ich fundamental und charttechnisch die 0,60cad als soliden boden bei otl. solange keine aussergewöhnlichen oder unerwarteten news kommen wird otl mit dem (tsx-) gesamtmarkt korrelieren.

sorry an dieser stelle, ich kann leider keine präziseren angaben machen.  

wieder mehr umsätze drüben. ob das was mit grandich zu tun hat???
