Parsytec gains momentum in aluminum market
Aachen/Germany - 27. October 2003. Parsytec AG - the world´s leading supplier of
surface inspection systems for strip products such as steel, aluminum and paper
- announces an order from Aluminium Norf GmbH to equip the Hot Strip Mill No. 2
with Parsytec´s leading inspection technology. After pioneering surface
inspection of hot rolled aluminum last year, this order from the world´s largest
hot rolling mill underlines Parsytec´s momentum in the aluminum market.
Alunorf is the world´s largest aluminum rolling and casting facility in the
world. The company has 2,100 employees. it is a 50-50 joint venture between
Alcan and Norsk Hydro and provides both external customers and subsidiary plants
of the joint venture partners with hot and cold rolled aluminum strip. The
purchased Parsytec inspection system will be installed at the Hot Strip Mill No.
2. As this is by far the largest hot rolled aluminum line of the world,
Parsytec expects even further tail wind for its accelerating aluminum business.
The order from Alunorf follows Parsytec´s successful installation at Wise Alloys
(USA), where Parsytec pioneered the art of surface inspection for hot rolled
aluminum. Robert A. Wortman, Mechanical Engineer at Wise Alloys, summarizes his
