Was dann los ist, weiß hier keiner abzuschätzen.

Stans Energy Corp. (HREEF.PK)
Stans has a past producing mine in Kyrgyzstan which used to supply the former Soviet Union with all of its REE needs. The composition of the deposit is roughly 50/50 HREE/LREE and the deposit was previously mined via open pit methods. The Kutessay II deposit represents an interesting play on the REEs for investors as Stans seeks to increase the production capacity of the mine and deliver a Prefeasibility study by Q4 of 2011.
The surrounding area which Stans controls around the Kutessay II deposit should prove to hold further REE reserves as the Soviets never needed to further test and develop these areas because of the 80 year supply of REEs they had from the operating mine. We do know at this time that there is a Beryllium deposit next to the past producing REE mine, and that Stans will publish a JORC soon. Based off of what the Soviets found years ago, we would not be surprised if Stans were to find base metals and/or gold and silver associated with any new REE discoveries.
Investors should also watch to see if Stans adds one of the monster HREE deposits in Russia to its portfolio via its joint venture with its Russian partners, which could provide a boost to shares.

Dies wiederum passt ganz gut ins Zeitgefüge.

Scenario study on rare earths: Availability and price developments will be the critical success factors for many high-tech companies.
Prices for rare earths have skyrocketed: worldwide market volumes in 2011 have grown to an estimated EUR 27 billion Price developments are hurting profitability or are even threatening the existence of some high-tech companies, especially in the automotive and renewable energy sectors China maintains a monopoly in extracting and processing rare earths Companies must develop the right strategies to ensure their supplies.
Due to skyrocketing prices, worldwide market volumes for the 17 elements known as "rare earths" are expected to rise to EUR 27 billion in 2011. Just three years ago, global market volumes for these metals amounted to only EUR 2.4 billion. Besides greater industry demand, the reason for exploding prices is primarily due to China's monopoly position as the global supplier. High-tech businesses, especially in the automotive or renewable energy sectors, are being hit particularly hard by these developments. Many companies have realized what's going on and are giving this issue top management attention. These are the findings of a study by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants entitled "The Rare Earth Challenge."
"The availability of rare earths at competitive prices is currently playing a key role in production at many technology companies," explains Thomas Rinn, Partner at Roland Berger. "It's no surprise that top management is now focusing on the topic of rare earths. Many companies are facing the challenge of dealing with a resource that is in increasingly short supply and becoming more expensive."

Global rare earths resources and scenarios of future rare earth industry - Document Transcript
JOURNAL OF RARE EARTHS, Vol. 29, No. 1, Jan. 2011, p. 1
Global rare earth resources and scenarios of future rare earth industry
CHEN Zhanheng (陈占恒) (Academic Department, The Chinese Society of Rare Earths, Beijing 100081, China) Received 24 December 2010; revised 17 January 2011
Abstract: It is known to all that China is abundant in rare earth resources. But rare earth deposits are really not that rare in the earth crust. Inthe five continents, i.e. Asia, Europe, Australia, North and South America, and Africa, there are about thirty four countries found to have rareearth deposits; Brazil might surpass China and rank the first in rare earth deposits.
At present, investment in rare earth production was surged, there have been about 200 projects, and the total production for 25 of them would be more than 170 thousand tons after 2015, a multi-supplysystem on rare earths is being established worldwide. Cautions on the investment of rare earth production are involved.

Report: China cuts off REE supplies for a month
Extraordinary news out of China:
Rare earth production is to be interrupted to put a floor under prices.
It seems that, contrary to all indications by previous official announcements, China’s rare earth sector is still far from orderly. Now we have an announcement made through the Shanghai Stock Exchange that indicates that Beijing has been unable to rein in illegal production and smuggling of REE, and that the government is again interfering in the market.
This news will send a shock wave through the industries that depend on rare earths - and underline the imperative for production of REE from other sources.
Reuters reports that China's Baotou Steel Rare-Earth Hi-Tech is to suspend for a month all smelting and separation operations. The country’s largest REE producer is making the move to support prices which are now under pressure. The Wall Street Journal adds that prices of some rare earth oxides have fallen sharply in recent months. Chinese prices of neodymium oxide have fallen 35 per cent since June; praseodymium oxide has shed 17 per cent and lanthanum oxide 2 per cent in the period,
Reuters says this is not the company’s first attempt to underpin prices: last month Baotou bought an unknown amount of praseodymium and neodymium oxides at above market prices. Back on September 23, Reuters reported that China's prices for neodymium and praseodymium edged up after Baotou said it will build up stocks and would buy the oxides at up to 900,000 yuan ($US140,896) per tonne.

As of October 15th, Stans has completed 3 of 4 planned drill holes (DH) at the Kutessay II deposit to test the depth potential of known mineralization. The fourth hole will be completed by November 15th. The assay of the core and the full report of results will be published by the end of December.
A second diamond drill will be put into operation this week to start drilling two drill holes totaling 1100m at the former Aktyuz Mine to explore lower horizons with known historical rare earth mineralization. Further exploratory drilling of an additional 400m will be undertaken to explore other untested anomalies in the Aktyuz Ore Field. The two drilling programs will be completed by December 15th and a report will be ready by the end of January 2012.
Strategic Partnership Discussions Initiated
Throughout 2010 and 2011, various Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies that have expressed interest in developing strategic partnerships in respect to its Kutessay II project in Kyrgyzstan have approached Stans. These firms have the ability to assist with financial, technical, marketing and other necessary prerequisites that would accelerate early production at Kutessay II.
Stans conducted site visits with the representatives of various potential strategic partners in April, July, August and October 2011, and is planning to host another site visit in early November. The company is working towards signing agreements with one or more of these strategic partners, and will be releasing information as it becomes available.
Kalesay
The underground resampling program for the Kalesay Beryllium deposit completed earlier this year returned results that were inconsistent and could not be used to confirm the historical Soviet data. The sampling was conducted on an area that was open to weathering; so the new sample program will be conducted in the un-weathered, central part of the deposit. Stans has decided to reopen the underground workings to resample the beryllium mineralization much deeper in the underground exploration drift closer to the core of the historic deposit. Stans has contracted Prospecting LLC to do this work and has submitted an application to the Kyrgyz government to reopen the underground workings for further sampling.
About VNIIHT
VNIIHT has developed technologies and technological schemes of individual REE production out of different types of raw materials that were implemented at plants in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Estonia. REE extraction technologies developed at VNIIHT were utilized in the production cycle for over 20 hydrometallurgical plants. Over 2600 inventors' certificates and patents have been issued to VNIIHT. Of the 1000 employees at VNIIHT, over 100 are PhDs.
About Stans Energy
Stans Energy is a resource development company focused on progressing Heavy Rare Earth (HRE) properties in areas of the Former Soviet Union. In December 2009, Stans acquired a 20-year mining license for the past-producing Kutessay II rare earth mine from the Kyrgyz Republic. On May 26, 2011 Stans completed the purchase of the Kashka Rare Earth Plant (KRP) the same plant that historically refined REEs from the Kutessay-II open pit mine. The KRP was the only hard rock plant to produce all rare earth elements outside of China, producing 120 different metals, alloys, and oxides. For over 30 years, Kutessay II produced 80% of the rare earth metals for the former Soviet Union.

Wenn dem so ist, was wäre wenn ... ?

Analysts, according to the AP, think the plan will probably work; rare earths prices have been sliding downward lately, a trend China would certainly like to reverse, and it'll also give the country an opportunity to work on its locally-produced rare earths magnet industry, a much more profitable enterprise than simply selling raw materials. Of course, it's not going to do much to discourage, you know, every other country on the planet from trying to find an alternative to buying rare earths from China.

...
Warum baut niemand so etwas?

Damit lassen sich lanthanum carbonate and oxides, cerium, neodymium, praseodymium, samarium, terbium, dysprosium, europium, erbium, gadolinium gewinnen. http://www.stockhouse.com/Bullboards/...&r=0&s=HRE&t=LIST
b) Any ore that contains HRE is dangerous. Period. It contains Thorium.
The clean up processing used to be performed (poorly) in plant #1. This unit will never be i use. It uses an obsolete technology.
Till they get a replacement Plant #1, the company stil can use plant #3 to produce HRE but only if the ore has been prealably cleaned from the Thorium.
Lilo mentioned that, in Ural, the URSS has stored huge quantitys of ore readdy for the separating process. According to the easy common sense, such ore is has been prealably cleaned.
