Coherent, Inc. vom 1.November (Nasdaq: COHR) today announced financial results for its fourth fiscal quarter ended September 30, 2000. Sales were $155.0 million, an increase of $23.3 million (18%) compared to sales in the fourth quarter of the prior year. Net income for the quarter was $43.7 million ($1.53 per diluted share) including a $32.3 million ($1.13 per diluted share) after tax gain as a result of an increase in the value of Coherent's 60.4% ownership interest in Lambda Physik AG following its initial public offering (the Lambda gain). Pro forma net income of $11.4 million (excluding the Lambda gain) represented a 56% increase ($4.1 million) compared to net income in the fourth quarter of the prior year.
During the fiscal year, Lambda Physik booked orders for a record $49.0 million in DUV excimer lasers for the lithography marketplace. This compares to $19.0 million booked in fiscal 1999. Lambda Physik sold a record $35.6 million in DUV excimer lasers for lithography in fiscal 2000, compared to $20.2 million sold in fiscal 1999. Early in the first quarter of fiscal 2001, as we announced several weeks ago, Lambda Physik booked the largest order in its history for lithography lasers to be shipped over the next nine months.
Anfang Dezember sollten die genauen Zahlen von Lambda kommen.Ich frage mich nur wie die aussehen, wenn die Gewinne doch bei Coherent einfliessen.Und ob nicht die recht stabile COHR eine bessere Wahl wäre...
