Alstom wins $549m Iraq power plant contract...
Alstom , a global leader in power generation, has secured a contract worth nearly 400 million euros ($549 million) from Eni Iraq BV to build a 740 MW1 Zubair gas-fired power plant, near Basra in southern Iraq.
This project will make Alstom the only original equipment manufacturer to have secured more than one engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in Iraq.
Technical support and engineering expertise for the project will come from Alstom?s Power Generation headquarters in Baden, Switzerland, and its German gas turbine manufacturing facility in Mannheim.

Alstom wins 225 mln eur gas turbine contract in Iraq
Alstom has secured a contract to supply equipment for the Al-Anbar gas-fired combined-cycle power plant being built in the Anbar province in Iraq.
Under the terms of ?225m contract, the company will supply four highly efficient GT26 gas turbines, along with four heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), two steam turbines, as well as six air-cooled turbogenerators.
Alstom is currently constructing the 728MW Al-Mansuriya gas-fired power plant in the Diyala Governorate, northeast of Baghdad, and has also recently bagged the 740MW Zubair contract (siehe oben)with ENI Iraq B.V.
