http://www.finanznachrichten.de/...chten-medien/irish-independent.htm"AIB has decided to ditch college and leave Dublin City University after a more than 20-year presence on the campus.
The state-owned bank has confirmed to the Irish Independent that it will cease operating at the university on March 22.
Bank of Ireland will replace it, having secured a contract with DCU to provide an on-campus bank branch and ATMs at the university. DCU has close to 9,000 full-time students.
A spokeswoman for the university said DCU had undertaken a "comprehensive tendering process".
Aside from the lease payment that is made to occupy the campus banking premises, the university declined to say what additional financial payments are made.
Bank of Ireland said it would offer "cutting-edge" services at DCU. AIB is relocating the services it provided at DCU to its Santry branch.
In October, AIB closed 44 branches in an effort to cut costs. Three more closed in November and 13 are to shut this year.
