A trio of banks led by Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS.L: Quote, Profile, Research) plans to present a new, nearly all-cash bid for Dutch bank ABN AMRO Holding NV (AAH.AS: Quote, Profile, Research) as early as Monday, according to two media reports on Sunday. Japanese financial markets were closed for a public holiday. Spread betters in London expect the FTSE 100 Index (.FTSE: Quote, Profile, Research) to open 14 points lower to 15 points higher, the DAX (.GDAXI: Quote, Profile, Research) to open 12 points lower to 5 points higher (!!), and the CAC 40 (.FCHI: Quote, Profile, Research) 10 points lower to 10 points higher. __________________ ignorance is bliss
